Balramdev Saligram Mehta Primary Taechers Training Institute established by Nutan Shikshan Sabha in the year 1964 was imparting training exclusively for women. But as per rules of the Govt. co-education was introduced. Partial grants in aid were given in 1964 and since 1971 it is receiving cent percent grants with permanent recognition. During 1979-80 UNICEF AID is also granted.For practice teaching of the trainees a primary school was started in the year 1970. It was aided by the Govt. and very popular school in the whole of Ankola Taluka with highest number of students. This institute has very good basic infrastructure, i.e. building, library, laboratories, play ground etc. Our institute is considered to be the pride of Ankola Taluka.
